Park and Ride optimisation
Simple, rewarding, scalable

Challenge
Utrecht has several Park & Ride (P&R) facilities designed to reduce city-centre traffic by encouraging drivers to continue their journey with public transport. However, these sites are often underused for this purpose. Many visitors park their cars but then walk to nearby destinations instead of switching to bus or tram. This limits the impact of P&R on congestion and sustainability, and highlights the need for a better user experience and stronger incentives to use public transport.
Solution by Umob
- One app: parking + transit in a single booking
- Rewards for choosing public transport
- Clearer wheyfinding and smoother UX.
Impact
- Higher P&R adoption as intended.
- Fewer cars in the city centre
- Blueprint scalable to other EU citities
