Europe's first fully integrated shared mobility concession

The Municipality of Eindhoven is the first Dutch municipality to bring multiple shared mobility providers together under a single concession, creating one connected mobility ecosystem for residents.

Through one contract, one point of contact and one central management layer, umob brings shared bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters and electric cargo bikes together in one app. Residents access vehicles from Dott, felyx and Cargoroo by MOBY through one account.

For the municipality this means one partner responsible for provider management, platform operations, customer support, pricing, communication and data reporting.

Making shared mobility accessible beyond early adopters

As part of the European ShareDiMobiHub programme, the Municipality of Rotterdam partnered with umob to make shared mobility more inclusive and relevant for a broader group of residents. Adoption had traditionally been concentrated among younger, higher-income and digitally confident users.

Eligible residents received two-monthly mobility credits of €50 through the umob app, usable for shared bikes, electric cargo bikes and e-scooters across the city. The pilot focused on neighbourhoods where shared mobility usage had historically been low.

Making sustainable transport the easy choice

As Amersfoort continues to grow, the municipality is committed to keeping the city accessible, liveable and sustainable. Together with umob, the city launched a mobility incentive programme that encouraged residents to experience sustainable alternatives to private car ownership.

Participants could choose between €10 in monthly mobility credit for twelve months or €25 per month for four months. The credit could be used for public transport, shared bikes, e-scooters and electric cargo bikes, all within one app, one account and one seamless payment experience.

Keeping the region moving during major roadworks

Major infrastructure projects require more than traffic management. They require people to change the way they travel. Together with Zuid-Holland Bereikbaar, umob helped commuters adapt to the extensive roadworks on the A20 by giving regular travellers on the corridor €20 in free mobility credit each week for five weeks, to spend on public transport and shared mobility.

Removing the financial barrier and putting planning, booking and payment in one place encouraged commuters to leave the car behind and try multimodal travel. The combination of targeted incentives and a seamless digital experience took pressure off the road network while keeping residents and employees moving reliably throughout the works.
